Il coro Polifonico San Carlo di Pesaro, composto da 35 elementi, tutti non professionisti, è attivo come formazione musicale dal 1982, svolgendo un’intensa attività musicale, che l’ha portato a tenere numerosi concerti, anche in collaborazione con orchestre, a partecipare con successo a rassegne e concorsi corali nazionali ed internazionali, e ad effettuare tournee in Francia, Germania, Svizzera, Lussemburgo, Croazia e realizzare varie incisioni discografiche. Il repertorio spazia dalla musica polifonica sacra e profana rinascimentale a quella contemporanea, comprendendo anche canti tradizionali e negro-spiritual, per arrivare a brani tratti da colonne sonore di film, musical e operette. Ha eseguito varie opere per soli, coro e orchestra, tra cui “La tempesta sul lago”, “Missa Jubilei” e “Baptisma” di Mons. D.Bartolucci, sotto la direzione dello stesso autore, “Magnificat” di G.B.Pergolesi, “Credo” e “Beatus Vir” di A.Vivaldi, “Le sette parole di Cristo” e “Missa in Tempore Belli” di F.J.Haydn, “Messa di Gloria” di G.Rossini, “Misa Cubana” di E.Ubieta.Nel 2001 è inoltre risultato fra i cori finalisti al Concorso Nazionale di Cori Polifonici “San Bartolomeo” di Benevento. Nel 2004 è risultato vincitore di due concorsi: “Premio San Tommaso d’Aquino” di Roccasecca (FR) (3° posto) e “Concorso Nazionale Luigi Zanuccoli” Sogliano sul Rubicone (RN) (1° Premio Assoluto).Nel 2003 ha partecipato ad una masterclass per cori organizzata dall’associazione “Amici della Musica” di Firenze e tenuta dai King’s Singers.Ha partecipato al 7° Festival Internazionale Alta Pusteria (Giugno 2004) e al 19° e 21° Festival International de Musique Universitarie di Belfort – Francia (Maggio 2005 e 2007). La direzione del coro è affidata al M° Salvatore Francavilla, con cui collaborano i musicisti Fiamma Lauri, Elisa Cerri e Giorgia Borgacci.

The “Coro Polifonico San Carlo” of Pesaro has approximately 35 members, all amateurs. It was founded in 1982. Concerts have been held with orchestras also and the choir has participated in national and international singing competitions and exhibitions with tours to France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Croatia and has a number of recordings. The choir’s repertoire is varied, ranging from church polyphonic and Renaissance music to contemporary music, including traditional songs and spirituals, music from film sound tracks and operettas. The choir has performed various works for soloists, choir and orchestra and has collaborated with other music groups and choirs. These works include the oratorio “La tempesta sul lago”, from the “Missa Jubilei” and “Baptisma”, composed by Mons. D. Bartolucci and conducted by the composer himself, the “Magnificat” by G.B: Pergolesi, “Credo” and “Beatus Vir” by Vivaldi, “The Seven last Words of Christ “ and the “Missa in Tempore Belli” both by Haydn and very recently Rossini’s “Messa di Gloria”. The choir has also performed E. Ubieta’s “Misa Cubana”.In 2001 the choir was a finalist in the National Competition for Polyphonic Choirs “San Bartolomeo” in Benevento. In 2004 the choir participated in two competitions: the “Premio San Tommaso d’Acquino” in Roccasecca (FR) (3rd prize) and the “Luigi Zanuccoli” National Competition in Sogliano sul Rubicone (RN) (1st prize). Furthermore in 2003 the choir participated in a master class for choirs organised by the “Amici della Musica” in Florence and held by the King’s Singers.The choir was also invited to take part in the 7th International Choir Festival in Alta Pusteria (June 2004) and the 19th and 21st Festival International de Musique Universitaire in Belfort – France (May 2005 and 2007). The choirmaster is Salvatore Francavilla, and he is assisted by soprano Fiamma Lauri and the pianists Elisa Cerri and Giorgia Borgacci. |
